Enable Next ADI in all profiles without letting the blog administrators knew about it

Requirement: You want to enable NADI for every blog in your multisite network. None of the blog administrators should know anything about the specific configuration.

Steps:

  • Set the profile “My NADI profile” as default profile on the Profile assignment page
  • Set every blog/profile assignment on the Profile assignment page to — None
  • Open the profile “My NADI profile”
  • On the tab “Profile” enable the checkbox for Is active
  • On the tab Profile disable the checkboxes for the menu entries
  • For every option in this profile set the permission to “Input field is invisible”
  • Configure this profile to your needs
  • Save the profile

Your blog administrators will see the menu entry “Active Directory Integration” but are not able to configure anything.

Let blog administrators themself decide to use NADI or not

In a Multisite installation NADI must be Network activated so a blog administrator is not able to uninstall or deactivate the plug-in by himself.

Requirement: You want to give every blog administrator the possibility to use NADI or not for his own site.

Steps:

  • Set the profile “My ADI profile” as default profile on the Profile assignment page
  • Set every blog/profile assignment on the Profile assignment page to — None
  • Open the profile “My ADI profile”
  • On the tab “Profile” disable the checkbox for Is active
  • On the tab “Profile” enable the checkboxes for the menu entries
  • For every option in this profile set the permission to “Blog admin sets the option value”
  • Save the profile

By using this configuration NADI is disabled in every blog by default. Blog administrators can decide on their own whether to use NADI or not. They must explicitly enable the option Is active in their blog.
